Google PageRank Update

reputation-armor-google-pagerank

First of all, Reputation Armor will take a look at how Google describes PageRank

“PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page’s value. In essence, Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. But, Google looks at more than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page receives; it also analyzes the page that casts the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves “important” weigh more heavily and help to make other pages “important””

So Google basically describes PageRank as the domino effect from a “ballot” among all the other pages on the on the net. A backlink to a page counts as a vote of support. The PageRank of a page is defined by and depends on the amount and PageRank of all pages that link to it (”incoming links”).

Google assigns a ranking from 0-10 for each page; this PageRank reflects a site’s significance in the eyes of Google. The PageRank of a particular page is more or less based upon the quantity of inbound links as well as the PageRank of the pages providing the links. Other factors include, but are not limited to, relevance of search words on the page and actual visits to the page reported by the Google toolbar also influence the PageRank. In order to prevent manipulation and Spamdexing, Google does not provide explicit details about other factors that influence PageRank.

The History Of PageRank

Contrary to most users’ beliefs, the “Page” in PageRank does not stand for the page of the ranking; instead it was developed at Stanford University by Larry Page and soon after Sergey Brin as a component of a research project about a new type of search engine.

The Next Google PageRank Update

If Google maintains the schedule of previous PageRank updates, then Reputation Armor expects to see the next update to take place sometime between June 30th and July 7th.

Removing Negative Search Results and Reverse SEO

reputation-armor-reverse-seo-remove-negative-search-resultsReputation Armor notes that Reverse Search Engine Optimization goes right along with the structure of your online reputation management agenda. It is the quickest, most capable resolution for dealing with negative results that have surfaced on the search engines about you or your company. By forcing negative listings from the front page of Google, Yahoo, and Bing, reverse SEO protects you from the detrimental annotations of others.

Negative exposure online has become one of the most frustrating challenges for Reputation Armor clients.

With sites like RipOffReport.com it is easier than ever for anyone to post anything. These Complaints are typically anonymous. Reputation Armor has found that names are consistently unattached to forum threads, blog posts, and even entire websites. Therefore, it is an complex task to track and address the source of the complaint. Furthermore, Reputation Armor has found that the growing popularity of social networking platforms has made it easier than ever for anyone with a accusation or false complaint to give weight to their resentment.

If you or your company has been the target of negative online complaints, it may be time to launch a reverse SEO campaign with Reputation Armor

In the following, Reputation Armor will spell out how negative results gain footing within the search engines, and how it can lead to a public relations nightmare. We’ll also provide a working blueprint for executing a reverse SEO campaign and controlling the damage.

Managing Negative Results With Reverse Search Engine Optimization

To appreciate why reverse SEO is effective, the ReputationArmor.com team thinks you should be aware of how negative results take root within the top search listings in the first place. Google, Yahoo, and Bing rank pages based on a large number of criterion. If a website and its individual pages satisfy the most important of those criteria, those pages will rank well.

A lot of the negative results that target companies are to be found on websites that meet key ranking parameters in the search algorithms. That means the negative results can climb into the top positions and gain exposure. When people search for you or your company, they’ll see the ghastly press.

Reputation Armor s reverse search engine optimization consists of an Online Reputation Management strategy that pushes negative exposure from the top search positions. By removing the negative results from the first 2 or 3 pages of listings, reverse SEO limits its exposure and suppresses its force.

Fundamentals Of A Triumphant Reverse SEO Campaign

Like search engine marketing, reverse SEO uses a systematic, multi dimensional approach to protect your online reputation. The first step that Reputation Armor recommends is to identify the sites and pages that include negative results about your company, and are ranking for central keywords. Those keywords might include your name, that of your company, or key employees.

The second step of reverse SEO as Reputation Armor observes it is to analyze those sites and pages for their respective ranking authority. That will help you establish the effort and tools you’ll need to use in order to move them from the first page of listings within Google, Yahoo, and Bing.

The third step is to assemble the necessary tools and execute your reverse SEO campaign. Deployment of optimization tools such as press releases, a new network of competing sites and blogs, social media profiles, and social bookmarking programs begins immediately when Reputation Armor starts a campaign for a client. A Reputation Armor Reverse Search Engine Optimization campaign also includes heavy content syndication to build high-quality links. Reverse SEO Begins

Before Negative Press Emerges

Reputation Armor has found that the best time to launch a reverse SEO campaign is before negative results appear in the search results that are generated by search engines. This is due to the way that the pages link. A page will rank well within the search engines if there are enough links pointing toward it. However, once it ranks, it will receive a larger spotlight. Negative results can spread in a hurry as people attach the links pointing to those negative results to their own blogs, sites, forums, and social media accounts. That creates a growing portfolio of links pointing toward the damaging press, cementing its position in the top listings. It becomes more difficult to address. By launching a “Reputation Armor” reverse SEO campaign upfront, you can thwart the negative results

from gaining exposure in the first place.

Armor Your Online Reputation with Reverse SEO

Reverse SEO should play a key role in your online reputation management. It is effortless for unsatisfied customers, resentful employees and malicious competitors to discolor your name. And when it happens, it is usually done under the cover of anonymity.

To launch your Reputation Armor reverse SEO campaign now – before trouble strikes and the damage begins to gain momentum in popular search engines, contact Reputation Armor @ 888-358-ARMOR

Online Reputation Management Tips

reputation-armor-reputation-management-tips

Reputation Armor Online Reputation Management Tips:

Your online reputation is just as vital to your success as any other marketing tactic that you organize.

Online Reputation Management, or ORM as it’s commonly called, involves assiduous monitoring of your company’s brand and reputation on the web aiming to protect your business reputation and counteract any negative online content from parties not related to your company. Content can be posted on the web about your company in blog posts or comments, customer review websites, community websites, social media forums and so on. As the Internet becomes a progressively more essential part of people’s lives, online reputation has become just as important as offline reputation.

Here are some tips from reputation armor to defend and manage your online reputation and create good consciousness with anyone who searches your company or business:

Reputation Armor Tip #1

Optimize your Website for Search Engines -It’s important to get it optimized for search engines. This will not only ensure top rankings on search engines for your desired keywords, but it will also ensure that potential customers will be able to find your business effortlessly on the web. As positive comments about your business boost up the search engines, negative publicity will automatically be pressed down the.

Reputation Armor Tip #2

Set Up a Monitoring System – In order to monitor the presence of your company or brand, you need to keep an eye on all that is being said about your business online. Start by setting up Google Alerts, Yahoo Alerts and subscription feeds like Technorati and BlogPulse. This will give you a constant stream of content that references your business which you can then select to handle as a result.

Reputation Armor Tip #3

Start an Online discussion – In business, you will come across both positive and negative reviews about your company. It’s certainly not unusual to come across negative comments once in a while. If you see negative online feedback about your company or business, then don’t be afraid to address the situation.

Just don’t address it by commenting on the site on which the complaint originated. The fact is that Reputation Armor observes this all the time. Many times Reputation Armor s clients have already done this before contacting us; commenting on the site directly adds more “weight” to it and more often than not ascends the result.

Reputation Armor Note:

Negative publicity can have a significant wounding impact on your business. The best course to take for online reputation management is to be proactive. If you want more information contact Reputation Armor

Online Brand Reputation Management

reputation-armor-online-brand-reputation-management

What exactly is online brand reputation management (BRM)?

Basically, negative or malicious press in SERPS (search engine results pages) can be battled by creating positive content and submitting it through the proper channels. If search engines deem the content it will replace the negative results which will be pushed farther down the SERPs until that post by a disgruntled blogger is on page four and your good name has been restored.

How do you combat a high-ranking negative reference to your name or company?

It is far easier to attain high rankings for a business or domain name because there is less competition for these words than for the goods or services they provide. Also, when pushing down negative rankings for an individual’s name, the name itself is important. If a Reputation Armor client’s name is Gorgonzola  Wikenstienerpalooza then it is way simpler. If on the other hand, their name is John Smith, then it becomes a task that only the best of the best reputation/brand management firms can handle.

The same blogs, forums and social networking sites which can be used to negate or slur a brand, can be used to armor it. Here are some of reputation armor’s methods

Well-written, newsworthy press releases are great Brand Reputation Management (BRM) tools for synchronized direct traffic and SERP manipulation. Even when reputation armor clients use free PR networks, they will still make a visible impact if your targeted name or company is reasonably unique.

Reputation Armor builds Squidoo lenses and HubPages for our clients. We place their name in the title and URL – as in both cases you get to pick it yourself – and it is static. This works great, regardless of whether or not your lens on “Online Reputation Management” made any revenue last year.

Building Blogger accounts is another method Reputation Armor likes to employ, again we place their name in the title and URL. You can use your mission statement or About Us page and split it into a few posts. Leave it to simmer and watch what happens.

Social Media/Networking sites with more of a professional audience – Your LinkedIns and your Facebooks as opposed to your Friendsters and MySpaces – will get indexed quickly and rise just as fast. Reputation Armor builds these kinds of profiles for our clients.

The next step is indexing – Once you’ve built profiles, a blog, a couple lenses and a hub what next? Get it all spidered (crawled by search engines) by linking to each from the sidebar of the blogger account you just created and then linking to that from your site – or another high ranking site that gets crawled regularly.

Build a custom RSS feed for the phrase you want to shield. Use Google or Yahoo! tools to watch for negative stories or press releases. Now you are on your way to proactively protecting your brand.

Brand Protection and Reputation Management

Reputation Armor (ReputationArmor.com) wants our potential clients to understand that your name is in all actuality a brand. Individuals identify you by that name when deciding whether to do business with you, at least as far as online. Your name is also what will be drawn on in order to search out positive or negative reviews.

Do you own your name online?

Do you own “YourName.com? For example, “ReputationArmor.com”. What about nicknames and product names associated with you and your company? Also, sub-domains are very important, for example, “ReputationArmor.net”, and “ReputationArmor.org”

Even if you by no means plan to construct these into real websites, having someone else own these sites can be disastrous. Someone out there may decide that they don’t necessarily like you. Or a competitor to your business  may fix on ruining your online reputation. They can put whatever negative information about you they like for millions to see? Reputation Armor has even seen instances were a malicious porn or hate site was built that is made to look like it is associated with r our clients name or business. What do you think the outcome of this was when potential clients Googled their name?

This is actually a bona fide problem that Reputation Armor observes more often than one might think. Owning all of the potential deviations of your domains goes a long way in proactively guard your brand and online reputation.

Reputation Armor takes things a step further for our clients. We utilize the domains by building actual web sites. When anyone searches their name/companyName, they find a Google results page filled with relevant, positive links.

Reputation Armor advises clients that it is best to take an “Own it before there is a problem” approach. Optimistically there problems would never arrive, but realistically they often do.

Yelp…Make Up Your Mind

reputaiton_armor_yelp

Suppressing Negative Reviews

Reputation Armor is aware that Yelp has found itself somewhat under fire lately. There have been unrelenting rumors, and now lawsuits, that the site compresses negative reviews as a way to persuade companies to advertise on the site. Yelp has sturdily denied these rumors, yet they seem to remain. Regardless of Yelp’s denials, having these rumors constantly in the air challenges the integrity of the entire site.

While At the Same Time Suppressing Positive Reviews?

Reputation Armor has also heard from our clients that after declining a request to purchase advertising on Yelp, a number of positive reviews from their business’ listing on the reviews site mysteriously disappeared, downgrading the company’s rating on the site.

Reputation Armor is beginning to question whether any of the content on Yelp can actually be trusted. We see fake complaints on review sites daily. These negative results harm the online reputation of the businesses that they address. To think that companies and individuals have to fight against this sort of thing, not only from disgruntled ex-employees and competitors, but the actual review site itself, is astounding.

What do you think?
